Homemade Cranberry Sauce
If everyone knew how easy it is to make cranberry sauce, I bet no one would buy the canned stuff. Not only is it easy to make, it makes your whole house smell like the holidays. I like to double the recipe and use it for on top of a baked brie or as a spread on my sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of fresh cranberries
- ½ cup of coconut sugar
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- Juice and peel of one orange
- 1 teaspoon of ginger
- A pinch of nutmeg
Instructions for the Sauce
Place all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the orange peel and cinnamon stick and place in a serving bowl. This pairs beautifully with turkey or my Vegetable Pot Pie.
